Peter Kastner is an Austrian-born, Los Angeles-based composer, producer, bassist, and multi-instrumentalist. He trained in classical composition and upright bass in Vienna and later graduated from Los Angeles College of Music.

He relocated to LA in 2003, where his deep groove and emotional intelligence soon made him a sought-after session musician for artists as diverse as Joe Porcaro, The Beach Boys, and Sam Smith.

Since 2010, he has worked as a producer and film composer. He has contributed to projects like Karmic and Flora Fauna. He is also the founder of BAD OWL, a music label and licensing company built around human creativity, strong collaborators, and fearless turnaround.
